Research Assistant - Analytical Chemistry (m/f/d)

At Enamine Germany, we are building a diverse and dedicated team of chemists to support our partners from academia, the pharmaceutical industry, and the agrochemical sector through high-quality custom synthesis services.

The Position

At Enamine Germany, we are growing a passionate and diverse team of chemists to support our partners from academia, biotech, pharma, and agrochemical sectors through high-quality custom synthesis and analytical services.

We are currently looking for a Research Assistant to join our analytical chemistry and preparative purification team in Frankfurt am Main. This is a hands-on laboratory role ideal for professionals who enjoy working directly with analytical and preparative systems (HPLC, LC-MS), and who are passionate about chromatography, separation science, and analytical method development.

This Team awaits you:

You’ll be part of an international team of around 20 colleagues at our site in Industriepark Höchst in a modern, open space laboratory. We have a motivating, collaborative work environment and support each other with theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience. Everyone’s contribution counts.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Perform analytical testing of organic compounds using LC-MS and HPLC

  • Conduct purification of complex reaction mixtures using preparative HPLC systems

  • Develop and optimize chromatographic methods for compound isolation and characterization

  • Perform routine instrument calibration and maintenance (LC-MS, HPLC)

  • Conduct basic troubleshooting and monitor system performance

  • Collaborate closely with synthetic chemists for planning and optimization of purification strategies

  • Maintain accurate documentation in electronic lab notebooks (ELN)

  • Ensure adherence to laboratory safety and analytical quality standards

What We’re Looking For:

You’re a great fit for this role if you’re a team-oriented lab enthusiast with an eye for detail and a drive for excellence in chromatography.

  • Completed vocational training as a chemical technician (CTA, BTA), or B.Sc. in Chemistry or related field

  • First hands-on experience with HPLC and LC-MS systems

  • Familiarity with preparative chromatography and separation optimization

  • Experience in analytical lab environments, ideally within a CRO or industry setting

  • Comfortable working with hazardous chemicals and analytical-grade solvents

  • Strong documentation, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability and interest to learn new software and instruments

  • Working knowledge of English (German is a plus)

What You Can Expect from Us:

Join a collaborative, international team of ~20 scientists at our modern facility in Industriepark Höchst.

  • Modern laboratories and state-of-the-art analytical equipment

  • A flat hierarchy with short decision-making paths and agile workflows

  • Continuous learning: training, mentoring, and knowledge exchange

  • A workplace that values safety, quality, and responsibility

  • An inclusive environment that welcomes all backgrounds and perspectives

Note: This role is best suited for hands-on lab professionals. If your background is heavily theoretical or academic (e.g., PhD researchers), the position may not align with your expectations.

Application Documents:

  • Your CV

  • A motivation letter (max. one page)

  • A copy of your highest degree or vocational certificate

Inclusivity & Accessibility:

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at all levels. We welcome applications from all qualified individuals regardless of gender, age, background, religion, disability, or identity.

Please note that our current workplace is not fully barrier-free, but we are happy to discuss potential accessibility solutions based on your needs.
